Signs and Symptoms of Hormonal Imbalance
If you have or have ever had 5 or more of these signs or symptoms,
there is a strong possibility that your body is not making enough progesterone
to balance the amount of estrogen in your body.
This means that you may be “Estrogen Dominant”,
a condition which can contribute to PMS and menopausal symptoms.

Our initial consultations are comprehensive and are approximately 60 min. in length
The visit includes discussion of your current problems, a review of your medical history,
review of medications and supplements, blood pressure reading, a clear explanation of the
causes of your hormone imbalance symptoms or problems, discussion of various natural treatment
options and a care plan written specifically for you. Ample time is provided for answering your questions.
We have many clients all over North America and can prearrange for a convenient time to conduct
a telephone consultation if you live outside the Lower Mainland. The nurse will call you at a
phone number you provide and prior to the phone consultation, email or mail you any written material
we would normally provide during regular in-office visits.
We also advocate testing saliva, using Labrix and ZRT Kits, to properly measure hormone levels, as well as blood spot test to
measure thyroid hormone and vitamin D levels. When testing for sex hormone imbalance, we believe
saliva testing is more accurate than blood tests as only saliva testing directly measures the free,
bio-available hormones; however, thyroid and vitamin D levels are measured through a blood spot test.
Knowing your saliva hormone levels is an important first step in assessing whether your hormones
may be out of balance and determining whether your current natural hormone regimen is working for you.
A detailed Hormone Care Plan is drawn up and customized to your individual requirements. This will enable
us to balance and, with the help of a symptom diary, monitor your hormone levels in the future.

After the initial consultation visit, we recommend a follow-up visit at 12 weeks to review your symptoms
and to review the results of the repeat hormone testing. This follow-up visit takes approximately 30 minutes.
Other follow-up visits can be requested if required.
It is very necessary to ensure that we have your hormones balanced and that we have not over/under
corrected the replacement. It is advised to have the repeat hormone testing done prior to the follow-up visit.
You will be given a reminder phone call four weeks before follow-up.
Once saliva tests results are received, we email you a copy and review the results with you by phone.
You will not need to return simply to go over test results.
In addition, we encourage you to email us with your progress or additional questions between visits.
